Buyer Verification · For exporters

Score European buyers before you extend trade credit.

The reverse of factory risk scoring — built for Asian exporters and European distributors checking the buyer side. Public-registry verification, credit-band signals, recommended payment terms. The first step before issuing an invoice on Net-30, Net-60, or extending any open-account credit.

How it works

Snapshot pre-check now · binding credit pull next.

v1 returns an indicative pre-check. Production-grade verification connects to Creditreform / D&B / Atradius for binding credit reports.

01
Tell us the buyer name + country
Optional registry ID (KRS / Handelsregister / Companies House) speeds up verification. Most fields are optional in v1; a country code is enough to point at the right registry.
02
Check against the snapshot
We match against curated known-buyer profiles (tier-1 European retailers, distributors, marketplaces). Match → instant low-risk verdict with a recommended trade-credit cap.
03
Heuristic fallback for unknown buyers
If the buyer isn't in our snapshot, we point at the right public registry (KRS / Handelsregister / KvK / Companies House) and recommend a paid credit pull (€30–€150) before extending credit.
04
Recommendation drives the payment-term decision
Acceptable → Net-30/60. Require security → LC at sight or trade-credit insurance. Decline → 100% advance payment only. Each verdict ties back to the recommended OrcaTrade Trade Finance route.
Public registries we point at

EU + UK + EEA — verification starts in the registry.

Poland

KRS

Krajowy Rejestr Sądowy — public Polish business register. Free lookup at krs.ms.gov.pl for legal-entity confirmation; rejestr.io is the most usable mirror.

Germany

Handelsregister

German commercial register. Public lookup at handelsregister.de for legal-entity records; full extracts are paid (€4.50 per document).

United Kingdom

Companies House

Free, fully public UK companies register. Excellent API. Best-quality data of any in-scope registry.

Netherlands

KvK

Kamer van Koophandel — Dutch chamber of commerce. Mostly paid lookups; basic legal-entity confirmation is public.

Spain · Italy · France

National registers

Registro Mercantil (ES), Registro Imprese (IT), Infogreffe (FR). Paid for full extracts; basic confirmation public.

Pan-EU

BRIS

EU Business Registers Interconnection System — federated search across Member-State registers. Useful for cross-border lookups.

Credit data partners

Beyond the registry — paid credit pulls.

Public registries verify the legal entity exists. Credit pulls quantify default risk and recommended cap. v1 routes to one of these:

Creditreform
Pan-European, strong on DACH region. €30–€80 per credit report. Direct registry mirror plus default-risk scoring.
Dun & Bradstreet
Global. €50–€150 per report. DUNS number is the most quoted ID in international trade.
Atradius
Trade-credit insurer. Insures the receivable in addition to scoring it. Useful when the order size warrants risk-shift.
Coface
European trade-credit insurer. Country-risk reports plus buyer-level scoring. Strong on EU + emerging markets.
